Everything started with "Hey, what if Maxie and Archie were students in Hexisde"... now we have a whole au.

There's a rebellious group that opposes Emperor's Ghetsis coven system. Let's just call it "Aquatic Rebellion" (how creative I know).

Their goal at first is to get rid of Ghetsis and make N the next Emperor. N wants to revolutionize the Coven system. He wants covens to boost a certain magic type without blocking other types. Maybe even let people join more than one Coven at once (but with limits like a maximum of 2 covens and only the Emperor's Coven members would have all magic types boosted).

N "tested" his idea on few rebels. For example, Archie is still in Beast Keeping Coven and has the coven sigil on his wrist, but he can use other types of magic as well.

Maxie promised to Emperor to catch them only because he wants to make sure Archie is safe. He believes that he can reason with him and convince him to surrender so he won't be executed.

Members: Archie, Shelly, Matt, Steven, Wallace, N, random witches, some game protagonists and rivals (+ Maxie and Lysandre, Sycamore, Courtney in future).

More about Maxie & Archie

Maxie

He grew up in a rich family. His father wanted him to become the Emperor's Coven leader. Maxie chose the Abomination track in school, but he also learnt some healing magic cause Archie was and still is his idiot who always gets in trouble.

He became Abomination Coven leader (just like he wanted) which made his father quite disappointed.

Archie

He chose the Best Keeping track and decided to focus on water creatures. He also practiced other types of magic.

He never wanted to join the Beast Keeping Coven, but he did it for Maxie and Maxie only. (Max was really afraid Archie might get hurt if he doesn't join the coven).

After some time Archie has enough of Emperor Ghetsis indoctrination and together with his friends start a rebellion.

Their relationship:

They were friends back in Hexside. As they grew older they fell more in love with each other. Around the age of 16/17 they started dating. Everything was perfect until Maxie became the head of Abomination Coven.  He focused on work so much he neglected Archie.

They started to see each other less often, Maxie was busier and busier. With every day it started to become more painful for Archie... especially that he was planning to propose to him around the age of 24.

Their contact just cut off at some point, but they actually never broke up with each other. Maxie was focused on his coven and Archie on his rebellion. They started to contact each other when Archie became a wanted criminal, but it was completely different.

Archie actually never gave up on Maxie and kept the proposal ring (he made himself). Even though Maxie tried to hide his emotions he also couldn't give up on him.

Archie will convince Maxie that Ghetsis is evil and he shouldn't trust him, that's when Maxie joins the rebellion. They'll eventually talk about everything what happened between them and get back together.
